3 Different Obedience Classes
Basic Obedience
Our Basic Obedience is designed for dogs that are 20 weeks and older. A dog is never too old to enter basic obedience training, especially if it has never had the proper obedience foundation. If your dog has had some obedience, and you are not sure what type of class is needed, call us for an evaluation to determine which class level is best.
The Basic Obedience class is 5 weeks long, one day per week, 45 minutes per session. During Basic Obedience, your dog will learn to obey commands like heeling, turning, sitting, staying, down, recalling, and stopping a number of bad habits, with amazing determination (14 commands are covered).
You, on the other hand, will learn how to read your dog and anticipate its next move — a crucial element in dog training. You’ll learn proper usage of equipment, how to discipline properly, and how to reward with lasting results.
On completion of this class, you will be able to read your dog with accuracy and be able to handle most situations with confidence and ability.
A new class starts approximately every week. Please call for additional information. Our schedule and rates are posted. We will confirm your class through email or a phone call within 48 hours. You may call 405-231-4335 if you have special questions not listed.
Prerequisite: A Dog! Oh yeah, and proof of current vaccinations administered by a licensed veterinarian.

Intermediate Obedience
K9 University’s Intermediate Obedience class is designed for those with the need to take their dog to the next level in training. A dog that requires much attention or wants to learn more is typically a suitable candidate. A handler that sees his dog pushing him to the next level, or wants to understand more about his canine friend is also a suitable candidate.
The Intermediate Obedience class is 6 weeks long, one day per week, 45 minutes per session.
During Intermediate Obedience, you will learn specialized tactics to sharpen your own training ability and will learn advanced-reading skills that will help you read most dogs.
The dog will sharpen his obedience skills, and perform all commands with keen accuracy. Your dog will learn to respond to hand signals.
Classes start approximately every 4 to 6 weeks. Please call for additional information. Our schedule and rates are posted. We will confirm your class through email or a phone call within 48 hours. You may call 405-231-4335 if you have special questions not listed.

Benefits of Obedience Training
First and foremost, obedience classes help dogs learn good manners and socialization skills. They will learn how to behave appropriately in a variety of situations, such as meeting new people and other dogs. This not only makes them easier to handle in public, but also makes them safer to be around.
In addition to teaching basic commands, our obedience classes also teach problem-solving skills. This can be particularly helpful for dogs with behavior issues such as aggression, separation anxiety, or fearfulness. Our expert trainers work with each dog individually to help them overcome these issues and learn to behave appropriately in any situation.
Obedience classes also provide an opportunity for bonding between you and your dog. Working together on training exercises can strengthen your relationship and improve communication between you and your furry friend. This can lead to a deeper sense of trust and loyalty, which is beneficial for both of you.
Finally, obedience classes are a fun and engaging activity for dogs. They get to interact with other dogs and people, learn new skills, and receive plenty of praise and positive reinforcement. This can improve their overall mood and well-being, and make them happier and healthier pets.
